Lainey Wilson Brings Humor and Literal Chaos to 'Phone, Keys, Wallet' Video
Country superstar Lainey Wilson has unveiled a comical new visual treatment for her country radio single, "Phone, Keys, Wallet," leaning into literal humor and lighthearted chaos.
Visual Concept & Storyline
The video starts with a headless Wilson rushing through her house, struggling to gather her belongings while already 10 minutes behind schedule. Her detached head sits on the living room sofa delivering lines like, "You know I’d lose my head if it wasn’t attached, got a couple screws loose."
Throughout the clip, Wilson's head repeatedly disconnects from her body, showing up on top of her car, inside a refrigerator, spinning on a record player, and floating in a creek. Near the conclusion, her dog, Hippie Mae, joins in to search for the singer's missing head and greets her with kisses.
Lyrical Inspiration & Musical Collaboration
At its core, the track reflects on finding a partner who embraces personal quirks amidst a busy lifestyle. Wilson acknowledges her frequent forgetfulness and highlights her partner, Devlin "Duck" Hodges, as one of her daily essentials alongside her phone, keys, and wallet.
The studio recording features guitar work from John Mayer, recorded at Chapel Studios in Los Angeles. Wilson recalled running to play the song through a cellphone speaker for Mayer when learning he was present at the studio complex.
Live Performances and Upcoming Host Duties
Wilson previously performed the song alongside John Mayer on Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's annual All for the Hall guitar pull. She also featured "Phone, Keys, Wallet" in her live sets at Nashville's CMA Fest in June and during the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Festival.
