Staind has officially started their anniversary tour to celebrate their landmark 2001 album Break the Cycle. Staind began the American tour on Tuesday, September 8 at the Cellairis Amphitheatre at Lakewood in Atlanta. Staind was joined by Seether, Hoobastank and Hinder as opening acts.
While the tour celebrates the 7x platinum record that stayed three weeks at No. 1 Staind did not play the album in the order during the opening show. Instead Staind played a set of nine tracks from the album, plus classic hits and a few rare songs.
Stainds opening night set included nine of the 13 tracks from Break the Cycle leaving out "Change," "Can't Believe," "Epiphany," and "Waste." The show also featured the live performance of "Raining Again" from 2008s The Illusion of Progress. Staind brought back "Everything Changes" for the time since 2009 and "Believe" for the first time since 2011.
Staind reserved the hit "Its Been Awhile" and the Dysfunction favorite "Mudshovel" for the encore, which consisted of two songs.
Seether the direct support act played an 11-song set that began with "Illusion" and ended with "Remedy." Seether also played "Failure" for the time live from 2020s Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum. Seether brought back "Forsaken" for the time since 2011 and also played staples such as "Fine Again " "Broken," "Country Song," and "Gasoline."
Hoobastank played a 9-song set that included hits like "Running " "Same Direction " "The Reason," and "Crawling in the Dark."
Hinder opened the evenings shows.
Stainds 25th Anniversary tour will run across North America until mid-to-late October ending on October 19, in Austin, Texas.
