A.G. Sully Tackles Non-Monogamy and Relationship Strain on New Single 'Psyche'

OCTOBER 27, 2026

Alabama-raised, Brooklyn-based artist A.G. Sully has released her latest single, "Psyche," offering another glimpse into her upcoming EP, Orbit, which arrives on February 12th.

Release Snapshot

  • New Track: "Psyche"
  • Upcoming EP: Orbit (Out Feb. 12)
  • Earlier Single: "Are you willing to change"
  • Genre Blend: Jazz-soul harmonics, trip-hop, dream-pop, and tempered R&B

Following her prelude track "Are you willing to change," the new song builds on her signature low-lit melancholia. Merging jazz-soul harmonics with trip-hop rhythms, "Psyche" finds the songwriter examining a past attempt at non-monogamy and the clarity gained after the fact.

"It was one of the first songs I made after moving to Brooklyn, just learning to self-produce," A.G. Sully shared regarding the track. "New York provided me with a newfound confidence, and access to a lot of new ideas that I’d never heard of coming from a traditional southern home — one being non-monogamy (I know, very Bushwick of me). My boyfriend and I at the time thought it could be good for us, and I’ll admit, I really wanted it to work. However when the moment came, I couldn’t help but feel so guilty. Maybe it’s my deep southern roots, maybe I’m just too sensitive, too in love, or maybe it’s just not for everyone. Within a week we decided it was too painful, and I wrote Psyche in my bedroom, starting with the line ‘never meant to hurt you darling, you know I love you.’"

Artistic Journey & 'Orbit' EP

A.G. Sully originally attended college in Tennessee, where she discovered music outside of the Christian songs prevalent during her upbringing. She eventually left school to write non-secular music full-time and relocated to New York.

Working out of a sublet, she taught herself music production out of necessity. Her upcoming EP, Orbit, captures this transitional phase of city living alongside personal reflections on long-distance relationships, yearning, and devotion.
