Iron Maiden has officially announced two physical music releases to mark major milestones in their career. The first is a grand 50th anniversary box set that highlights the band’s era and the second is a standalone reissue of their sixth studio album, Somewhere in Time celebrating its 40th anniversary.
The box set, called 50th Anniversary Studio Album Collection, Part One: 1980 – 1992 includes the band’s nine studio albums on custom-colored vinyl. Each record features remasters from 2015. Comes in unique colors all packaged together in a box with original artwork. This release will arrive on December 11th. Ties in perfectly with the band’s current "Run For Your Lives" tour, which celebrates those same nine albums.
Fans can expect the included albums to be released on vinyl records. Each one in its own distinct color. There's also an Amazon- version of the box set that comes with a special anniversary poster making it a must-have for collectors.
Somewhere in Time
Separately Iron Maiden will release a 40th anniversary edition of Somewhere in Time on December 4th. This reissue is pressed on oxblood-colored vinyl and marks four decades since the album’s release. The Amazon version of this release will include a sleeve poster adding extra value for fans who want something special.
The announcement comes as the band continues their "Run For Your Lives" tour. They are currently touring with thrash metal legends Megadeth and Anthrax bringing together some of the influential acts, in heavy metal history. It's a celebration not of music but of legacy and endurance.
