North London Artist Teams Up With High-Profile Collaborators
Released via Big Smoke Records/Epic, Skepta's new track 'Innocent Smile' features Chase & Status alongside Suggs of Madness, marking the latest preview from his upcoming full-length project.
Sonic Direction & Album Context
The single continues Skepta's shift toward club-skewed productions, combining bold wordplay with high-octane Big Beat soundscapes. This distinctly British mix helps build out the aesthetic of his upcoming album, The Fork and Knife.
The forthcoming album is heavily influenced by a range of homegrown British genres, incorporating elements of grime, garage, house, jungle, and rave.
Visuals & Recent Work
An accompanying music video for 'Innocent Smile' has been released, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Aidan Zamiri. The visual draws inspiration from 2000s British cinema and cultural ephemera.
Earlier this year, the artist put out his transitional EP Mas Tiempo Vol. 2 and appeared as a featured artist on French singer Aya Nakamura's track 'Chippie'.
