Lombardy a Nashville indie-rock band has just released the new video for their single "Bazooka." The video was filmed in a park in Madison, Tennessee outside of Nashville. It shows Lombardy starting a jungle adventure that looks like a movie.
In the video Lombardy uses their instruments to defend themselves from flying danger. The story plays with action jokes showing flames coming out of guitars and missiles launching from the bass as Lombardy members dodge a low helicopter. The video takes cues from movies like Predator, Apocalypse Now and Tropic Thunder.
Band Identity and Unpredictable Live Performances
Lombardy members are singer-guitarists Jonathan Plevyak and Mike Scott bassist-singer Seth Renfrow and drummer Steve Mascarello. They mix rock, punk and hip-hop to create a sound in the indie-rock world. Lombardy is also known for stage behaviour.
Lombardy loves themed shows. They have appeared on stage dressed like Christopher Moltisanti from The Sopranos wearing suits and foam neck braces. They also played in sports jerseys. Later wore Hawaiian shirts for a full Magnum P.I. Look at the Delaware Beaches Songwriters Festival.
In an interview, on the Nashville Now podcast Lombardy talked about how odd ideas often influence their music. For example 1980s workout videos inspired the song "Jane Fonda".
Fans can hear "Bazooka" live when Lombardy plays at the Ryman Auditorium on Sunday, Sept. 27. Lombardy will open for Starbomb at the event.
