Country music singer Emily Ann Roberts has earned her very first Country Music Association Awards nomination, competing in the New Artist of the Year category for the upcoming 60th Annual CMA Awards.

As the nominees were read aloud, starting with Avery Anna and Carter Faith, Roberts initially assumed she was not selected for this year's lineup. Caught on camera by her husband, a momentarily disappointed Roberts stated, “I don’t think it’s gonna be this year.”
Moments later, her own name was announced. Her emotion turned instantly from disappointment to pure joy as she leaped out of her seat, screaming and repeating “No way” in shock. Her husband joined in the excitement, responding, “That is crazy…oh my gosh.” After letting the news sink in, Roberts turned off the recording to FaceTime family and friends to celebrate the achievement.

Winners will be revealed live during the ceremony at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday, November 18. The broadcast will air live from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, with on-demand streaming available the following day on Hulu.
