Billboard Hot 100 Songs Chart
Ella Langley has reached a milestone in music history. Ella Langleys hit single Choosin' Texas keeps running on the charts. A year after the original release, Choosin' Texas has officially logged its week at the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs Chart.
Historic Achievement Overview
Surpassing an All-Genre Record
With 23 weeks at No. 1 Ella Langley now holds the record for the most total weeks at the top of the chart in Billboard history. The accomplishment covers all genres, both holiday and non-holiday releases. Ella Langley officially edges out Mariah Carey, whose iconic seasonal hit All I Want for Christmas Is You previously held the record at 22 weeks.
Because the record takes into account non-consecutive weeks Ella Langleys total can keep growing even if Choosin' Texas falls below the top position on future charts.
Country Musics Ongoing Chart Dominance
The achievement shows a surge for country music on the pop-dominated Billboard Hot 100. Ella Langleys record comes during a period of crossover success for country acts alongside artists like Morgan Wallen and Stella Lefty. The chart recently reached a first in August, when country tracks claimed all five top spots at the same time.
