Carly Pearce Reflects on Friendship, Music and Finding Her Joy Again

A Longstanding Bond in Nashville
Pearce spoke about her friendship with fellow singer-songwriter Kelsea Ballerini during an appearance on Alchemy with Anthony Mason. The pair first crossed paths when Ballerini was 19 and Pearce was 23 both striving to build careers in Nashville.
Pearce candidly shared that on she felt envy toward Ballerini, who secured a record deal while Pearce was still working independently.
That initial envy quickly transformed into a supportive friendship. Pearce explained that Ballerini became a space in an industry where very few people truly understand the unique pressure. Over the years that dynamic led to collaboration, including their track "You’re Drunk Go Home " which also featured Kelly Clarkson.
During a game of "Sip or Spill" with Entertainment Tonight Pearce demonstrated that loyalty when asked about the experience the duo shared opting to take a sip of her drink rather than reveal private stories.
Reconnecting With Music and Joy
Beyond her friendships Pearce noted a shift in how she approaches her life and performance style. She highlighted that she is actively focusing on being more present both on stage and in her life outside of music.
Much of that renewed energy comes from working on her project, Honest Woman. Pearce shared that creating the album helped her reconnect with the passion that brought her to music initially noting she is having fun on stage now than when she previously won Female Vocalist of the Year.
Taking inspiration from Dolly Parton Pearce emphasized that she remains focused on the aspects of her career, within her control regardless of chart positions or nominations as she continues to push her artistic standards higher.
