The Smashing Pumpkins have officially announced an American arena trek called "The Rats in a Cage Tour." This tour is meant to celebrate the anniversary of their classic double album, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.
The tour will include 27 shows. It will start on September 30 2026 at The Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio. After that the band will perform in arenas across the United States and Canada. Stops will include cities like Boston, Brooklyn, Montreal, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, Seattle and Inglewood.
Each night of the tour will have a two-set format. The first set will feature songs from Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. It will be performed in a theatrical style. The second set will include music from throughout the band’s career. That means songs from their album Gish all the way to their most recent release Aghori Mhori Mei.
Frontman Billy Corgan shared a statement about the tour. He said, "Staging a Mellon Collie-themed show is something we’ve discussed for over a decade. Finally the stars have. Exactly on the terms I’d set. That was to build a night around its most enduring aspirations and ideas.”
Tickets and VIP Packages
Ticket sales for the public will begin on Thursday, May 21st at 10:00 a.m. Local time. Fans can buy tickets through Ticketmaster. Those who want an experience can buy VIP packages. These packages include access to a -show acoustic performance a Q&A session with the band and exclusive memorabilia.
Tickets and secondary market options are also available through StubHub. All purchases, on StubHub are protected by the FanProtect program.
